The Pilot Shortage

The aviation industry is facing an issue that the public is unaware about, by how crucial this shortfall of pilots currently is. Last year in just Canada alone, had an estimate of 1,000 pilots graduate, with half of those were international students, Canada only has 500 graduating student pilots.
If you already are shocked by that low number, a factor to keep in mind is that airlines have expectations of flight schools, is to have 1,200 graduates. With the ever-growing number of passengers, predicting by 2030 to double than it was 2017, changes need to be made.

"Having fewer and fewer pilots to draw from, sooner or later the operators are going to have to start cutting routes," said Mike Doiron, an aviation consultant and CCAA representative. "It ends up affecting the flying public," said Super. "They have a lot of cancelled flights.".
